A Thing of the Past

"Once I helped a lost kid find his parents. When they reunited, they hugged, and laughed... and looked so happy.
It reminded me of the little times when I was a son to someone, when I was loved.
Everything was warm, and comforting.
That happiness seemed to last forever.

...But that was a long time ago. Family just isn't my thing anymore...."


I've recently been trying to take another interesting perspective on Protoman's character. This time, I decided to play a little on his past-- or at least, before he ran away and whatnot. And yes, I've never read the Archie series, but I've checked it out enough to know how they depicted this very same thing. But that doesn't mean I have to follow it 100%, right? This here's just my mere, non-pushed take on the subject. ( ~' ,')~

Now anywho~ I went with a past where Protoman was probably kinda like Megaman when he was just built: kinda innocent, child-like, yet still pertaining his special independent characteristics that make him who he is. But like the Archie-story, I also felt that Dr. Light would still consider Proto like his own son, so despite being an advancement in technology, the "younger" Protoman would be looked at like a sweet, little child-- loved by his father-n-creator.

To even add to this past, I wanted to tweak with Protoman's looks. Now even though robots such as himself can't really grow (he's still the same height-n-such), I gave him a different, shorter hairstyle. [link]
I based it off an old concept art of him helmetless, while mixing a little bit of Megaman's hairstyle into it. So compared to his current hairstyle, this one's just got one flippy-thing and curves out. And to emphasize that this was before he started to transition to the Proto we know now, the little Proto lacks the shades entirely-- and also the helmet, since from what I read, Dr. Wily gives those said things to Protoman when he took him in.

And there we have it~! I feel kinda bad that I cropped Dr. Light out big time here, but I wanted to focus mostly on Protoman's expression, and also I screwed up on the Dr's everything. You can still kinda see him as he's hugging his robot-son, though right?

I also lightened the picture a little, so it looks faded like a memory or something like that.
Does that look alright to everybuddy? If it seems weird, I can fix that a little-- just ask me. ( ' ,');
